Efecto de la dependencia económica en la percepción de los beneficios y costes del turismo entre los residentes de Sant Antoni (Ibiza).

La dependencia económica, tanto personal como regional, tiene una gran influencia en las percepciones y actitudes de los residentes hacia el turismo, encontrándose en muchos casos una relación positiva entre la aceptación del turismo y la dependencia económica. El objetivo de este trabajo es determinar si la dependencia del turismo afecta la percepción sobre el turismo, para el caso de Sant Antoni de Portmany (Ibiza). Se busca determinar el efecto, simultáneamente, tanto de la percepción de depender la sociedad local del turismo como de depender personalmente del turismo sobre las percepciones de los efectos del turismo, costes y beneficios. El análisis de los datos se realizó mediante Regresión de Mínimos Cuadrados Parciales. El interés del estudio radica en analizar simultáneamente los dos tipos de dependencia en un destino con sesenta años de historia. Entre los resultados obtenidos se detecta un efecto significativo positivo de la percepción de dependencia regional en la valoración de los beneficios. Al analizar la dependencia económica personal, se detecta un efecto significativo negativo sobre la percepción de los costes y positivo sobre otros beneficios. Una fuerte dependencia personal aumenta la percepción de dependencia regional. Se mantiene la idea general de que mayor dependencia del turismo genera mayor percepción de los beneficios y menor percepción de los costes.
